Nightmare

Nightmare se forme 1979 et se fait connaître en faisant la première partie de Def Leppard à l'Alpexpo de Grenoble en 1983 devant 5000 personnes. Fort de cette performance, le groupe signe ensuite chez Ebony Records et sort l'album Waiting for the twilight en 1984, suivi en 1985 de Power of the universe. Malgré ces débuts prometteurs, les dissensions et les changements de line-up finissent par user le groupe, qui finit par se dissoudre à la fin des années 80 sans avoir pu aller au bout de son potentiel.
C'est avec une formation remaniée que Nightmare renaît de ses cendres en 1999. C'est désormais Jo (ancien batteur) qui assure le chant, tandis que Yves et Nicolas reprennent leurs postes respectifs à la basse et à la guitare. Le groupe semble trouvé un second souffle et fait paraître un mini-album Astral deliverance, suivi de Live deliverance qui immortalise le concert de reformation donné le 30 octobre 1999 au Summum de Grenoble. Dans la foulée, le groupe prend part également au prestigieux festival allemand Wacken Open Air en 2000.
En 2001, Nightmare commence l'enregistrement de Cosmovision, où le guitariste Patrick Rondat fait une apparition en tant qu'invité. Une petite tournée avec Saxon s'ensuit puis quelques dates en ouverture de Manowar, Blind Guardian et à nouveau le Wacken Open Air. De nouveaux changements font craindre le pire pour l'avenir de la formation, mais c'est avec du sang neuf qu'est enregistré en 2003 le concept-album Silent room, avant que le groupe n'enchaîne début 2004 avec une tournée européenne.
Un contrat est signé avec le très gros label Regain Records (Danzig, Vader...) pour l'enregistrement de The dominion Gate qui cartonne et permet au groupe de repartir en tournée de façon plus prolongée durant l'année 2006.
En 2008, après un nouveau va et vient de personnel (Alex qui tenait la guitare depuis 2002 part et laisse la place à JC Jess ), le groupe peut enfin se concentrer sur son prochain album qui sera toujours distribué par Regain Records.
